Terms of Business

These terms of business set out how we (Union Heritage Life Assurance Company dac) will provide business to you as a customer.

  • Union Heritage’s name, address, and contact details are stated above.
  • Union Heritage is a subsidiary of Harcourt Life Assurance dac being part of Harcourt Life’s group of regulated life assurance undertakings.
  • Union Heritage is a life assurance company regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. The Insurance Supervision Department of the Central Bank of Ireland is responsible for the regulation and supervision of life assurance companies in Ireland.
  • Union Heritage is subject to the Central Bank of Ireland’s Consumer Protection Code, which offers protection to consumers. A copy of the Consumer Protection Code can be found on the Central Bank of Ireland’s website www.centralbank.ie
  • Union Heritage’s tied agents are registered as tied insurance intermediaries under the European Communities (Insurance Mediation) Regulations 2005
  • Our business service is to provide guaranteed whole of life cover, protection cover and/or accident cover following a review of your insurance needs with one of our insurance intermediaries. Upon application for cover, our underwriters will decide whether to accept your application. If we accept the application, your insurance policy will be issued.
  • We will charge you regular premiums for the insurance product you purchase. There are no additional fees or charges.
  • Personal data will be held, recorded, and processed by Union Heritage on computer and/or manual systems for administration, identification, customer care, service and marketing purposes in respect of Union Heritage’s products and services only. This data will remain confidential. A separate data protection notice is included on the Company’s website.
  • It is our policy to avoid any conflict of interest when providing business services. If we perceive there is a conflict of interest in providing you with a policy, we will advise you accordingly.
  • If you miss any payment that is due under your insurance plan, all insurance will stop unless the cover may be continued under any guaranteed policy option in the terms and conditions. Under a guaranteed policy option the plan may become paid-up or premium payment may be made using the automatic premium loan option.
  • We are committed to providing a high standard of service at all times. We realise that there may be occasions when you feel our service has not met your expectations. If you have a complaint about our business services, you should send it to Union Heritage Life Assurance Company dac, Customer Service – Complaints, Block E, Iveagh Court, Harcourt Road, Dublin 2 or customerservice@unionheritagelife.com. If having exhausted our complaints procedure, and the issue has not been resolved to your satisfaction, you may refer your complaint to the Financial Services Ombudsman’s Bureau, 3rd Floor, Lincoln House, Lincoln Place, Dublin 2, by telephone at 1890 88 20 90 or by email at enquiries@financialombudsman.ie
